Diana Rohini LaVigne has over 20 years of journalism and communications experience and been the Executive Director of several non-profit organizations including the Newbury Street League and the Bay Area Bicycle Coalition and has held leadership positions within the corporate sector. She is a member of the Fremont Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee (BPTAC) and occupies Supervisorial District 2 Seat on the Alameda County Transportation Commission’s Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. She graduated from Harvard University with a BA and attended Hebrew College for her MA with a minor in journalism and has worked for dozens of media outlets in the past decade- mostly in the South Asian market. She's received several awards for her work including the Distinguished Service Award 2012 (California Legislature Assembly: Office of Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski), Certificate of Recognition 2012 (California State Senate: Office of Senator Ellen Corbett), Zindagi Community Service Award 2012, Event Chair of the Year Award (USA) 2011, and an India Community Center Appreciation Award (2011). Diana was the Executive Producer and on-air co-host for Boston’s leading cable arts show, ‘Its All About Arts’. And currently is the host and producer of a cable show ‘Bay Area Bikes TV’. She is a regular contributor to India-West and has a blog called The Influence Institute which features NRIs who inspire, innovate and influence. Diana Rohini has previously worked in the nonprofit sector as Executive Director for several high profile NPOs and looks for opportunities that allow her to utilize her expertise in Communications, Public Relations and Marketing to advance the organization she puts herself behind. A lifetime casual bicyclist, she has lived in the Middle East and Africa and has traveled extensively including Antarctica, Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Diana Rohini has been a speaker, emcee and moderator for several dozen events in recent years and looks for opportunities to share her knowledge and communications expertise on a regular basis. In addition to writing, she is a certified digital editor and producer and also an award-winning photographer.
